WHAT’S THE STORY OF SK8 THE INFINITY?

The plot of SK8 The Infinity is about passion and undaunted faith in pursuing it. Life is unequal to everyone in many ways. On one hand, we find Reki who is pretty impressive in skateboarding and easily befriends anyone. On the very first day at school of Langa, Reki gets along with him. It is apparently arduous for the boy to adjust to such a place as he has been brought up in Canada. Plus, Langa misses his father who passed away. Watching Reki crafting skateboards and marveling at it, Langa gives it a try. With a few alterations in style, Langa can sense that it is more like snowboarding which is one of his favorites.

The two end up enjoying themselves together and one day visit the “S” tournament of skateboarding. This place is not for kids and only the masters rule here. Names like Adam, Miya, and such are considered godly. Reki has always thought to give it a try although he realizes all the peril the tournament involves. Without a doubt, Langa and Reki are under an adrenaline rush but they have no idea where all this would lead him. Of course, you must be aware of the ending!

Langa Hasegawa

Moving from Canada to Okinawa was a shock to Langa. After losing his father, Langa thought he can never be competitive and eager for any sport. It was his father who pushed him to pursue physical combats and after losing him, Langa has somewhat lost his soul too. However, meeting Reki and rejoicing in the sport that he has practiced since he was three years old, Langa falls in love with it again. He never thought skateboarding could be so much like snowboarding and that he’ll excel in it.

Elements like competitiveness, courage, and risking breathe again in Langa. After a long time, he can feel like he’s alive and the credit goes to Reki and skateboarding.

Reki Kyan

Reki is an exceptional character in the anime and has done an amazing job for his friends throughout the story. Not only does Reki makes Langa familiar with skateboarding but he bonds with Cherry, Miya, and others. Although Reki is talented in the field of skateboarding but he is shadowed by Langa, Adam, and others. Not to forget that Reki is talented in crafting skateboards and definitely because of his work on Langa’s skateboard, he won.

The only sad part was that Reki felt he is not good enough and his envy took over the friendship for some part. However, the matters were soon resolved and he knew he has his own place and capabilities.

Tadashi Kikuchi

Tadashi Kikuchi holds the position of the personal bodyguard of Adam. The guy is impeccable in his work and hardly ever makes any mistakes. He is stern and efficient, never letting anything come in the way of his job and responsibility. At first, we perceive hints that he is a carbon copy of his bass Adam having no regard for anyone whatsoever. But, most of us were proved wrong as Tadashi is amazingly spectacular and more talented in skateboarding. It is clear that Adam has learned from Tadashi and never let him rise as Snake in the tournament.

To be honest, Tadashi is polite and caring. It’s just that he has been exploited by Adam’s behavior. Little does he know that he is wasting his life working for Adam.

Miya Chinen

Miya Chinen is a boy who remains quiet and is very arrogant in nature. It won’t be wrong if we say that his abilities in skateboarding have filled him with negative pride. Miya doesn’t budge in speaking ill for anyone and even called Reki “Slime” while sighting his inability. Since childhood, Miya has been into skateboarding and has learned the most dangerous and exemplary moves at a such young age. Do you remember what his face was like when Langa defeated him? Miya couldn’t fathom the moment.

Getting along with Reki as friends altered Miya’s personality and he realized that for the sake of this sport, he left everything. The hollow in the heart of Miya is evident and that fills with the companionship of friends.

Shokichi Oka

Shokichi is the owner of DOPE SKETCH and he also puts himself into understatement. He knows everything about skateboards but isn’t very impressive in his skateboarding skills. To our surprise, Shokichi is not that appalled by his weaknesses and considers the point that not everyone can be good at everything. He and Reki are on the same page and it was Shokichi who guides him after he messes up everything.

Love means commitment and endless work. Shokichi realizes that he is crazy about skateboarding but it’s a long road ahead. After all, it is not about competition for him but passion for the sport.
