DETAILED STORY OF MY HOME HERO ANIME

The story follows a man named Tetsuo, a seemingly ordinary family man who works 9-5 to meet his ends. The man has never wished to be rich or powerful, he likes life like it is; peaceful and calm. Tetsuo is a devoted husband to his wife, Kasen and a loving father to their daughter, Reiko. Everything was seemingly great until the father and daughter duo meet for lunch. Reiko’s face had bruises which she doesn’t explain to Tetsuo. As a result, life takes a dramatic turn when he discovers that Reiko's boyfriend, Matori, is a dangerous Yakuza gangster involved in illegal activities. Tetsuo initially tries to convince his daughter to break up with Matori, but Reiko refuses to listen to him.

Having no other way, Tetsuo tries to intervene further. In order to get more information, Tetsuo tries to search Reiko’s apartment and something unexpected happens. Matori comes into the apartment and talks about his illegal activities. What more? He further discusses how he has planned to take all of Reiko’s inheritance. In a moment of desperation, Tetsuo runs out of the closet and decides to take matters into his own hands. Tetsuo becomes obsessed with protecting his family from Matori and his gang and kills him with a rice cooker.

As soon as the murder happens, Kasen arrives and supports his husband in getting rid of the body. It was an arduous task but Tetsuo manages this with the help of his passion for reading murder mystery novels. The two of them dig the grave for Matori in their garden and hide the body to save his daughter and family. But, little do they realize that the Yakuza gang is keeping eye on each of their activity. Not to forget, that they would kill them all if unable to track Matori.

Tetsuo's actions begin to have unintended consequences and he soon finds himself caught in a web of lies, violence, and betrayal. Throughout the series, Tetsuo's character undergoes a transformation as he struggles with his own sense of morality and masculinity.

LET’S DIVE INTO THE CHARACTERS OF MY HOME HERO

Tetsuo

At the beginning of the story, Tetsuo is a bit of a pushover. He's a devoted family man, but he's also a bit of a doormat who doesn't stand up for himself or his family. However, when Tetsuo discovers that his daughter's boyfriend is a dangerous yakuza gangster, he undergoes a dramatic transformation. Tetsuo becomes obsessed with protecting his family and starts to develop a dangerous and slightly crazy streak. Throughout the story, Tetsuo goes through a rollercoaster of emotions as he faces one challenge after another. He's determined to protect his family, but he's also grappling with his own guilt and shame. He is a flawed and complex character who's always trying to do the right thing, even when it's not clear what the right thing is.

Reiko

Reiko is Tetsuo's teenage daughter, and she's the kind of girl who's always one step ahead of everyone else. She's smart, independent, and fiercely loyal to her boyfriend, Konno, who just happens to be a dangerous yakuza gangster. Yeah, you read that right - she's dating a yakuza! But don't let her relationship with Konno fool you - Reiko is no pushover. She's a tough cookie who's not afraid to stand up for what she believes in, even if it means going against her own family. She's a rebel with a cause, and that cause is love.

One of the most fun things about Reiko is her snarky sense of humor. She's always quick with a sarcastic remark or a witty comeback, and she's not afraid to call out her dad when he's being a bit too overprotective. She's the kind of girl you'd want as your best friend - smart, funny, and always ready for an adventure.

Matori

Matori is a gangster who is one of the Yakuza. He is desperate for power and money. Being a part of the criminal world, he has learned shortcuts to these. In order to exercise his dominance in life, Matori picks young and beautiful girls. With his fake politeness, he traps them all and plays his game. Matori has had many girlfriends and Reiko is not his first prey. The bruises on Reiko’s face depict the picture well of how much he loves those who love him. As his last conversation predicts, Matori’s heart has been stoned in the world of crime and he only is with Reiko for the sake of her money.
