PLOT OF CHIHAYAFURU EXPLAINED

Chihayafuru is an anime that follows the main character Chihaya Ayase. She might just seem like an ordinary high-schooler but in reality, she is quite energetic and talented. In her early middle school years, Chihaya didn’t know this herself until she met a class fellow Arata Wataya. When they saw each other for the first time, Arata was being bullied by Taichi Mashima. Arata is the one who makes her familiar with the game Karuta based on the Ogura Hundred Poets anthology. As day pass, Chihaya turns to become addicted to this game and shows great abilities in it. In the group of two, another member adds in, Taichi Mashima. The three form an incredible trio as they play Karuta like a pro. However, time splits all three of them because of several other reasons including family, financial, and other social aspects.

Now, in High School, Chihaya again meets Taichi. The girl is passionate to make Karuta an influential game in the school and so creates Mizusawa Karuta Club. Her dream is to search for more Karuta players like her and become the “Karuta Queen.” The first step to it would be the Omi Shrine's national championship which needs an immaculate team. So, Karuta has to walk on a long road. Plus, she is desperate to reunite with her old friend and crush Arata.

Chihaya Ayase

Arata is a very calm and quiet boy. He doesn’t speak much he does have great observational skills. There are many problems that impact his success such as poverty and the responsibilities of his parents. Still, Arata has a strong wish to be the greatest Karuta of all time just like his grandfather. This is more like a spark that keeps his heart alive. Arata is the one who first believed in the abilities of Chihaya. Both had a really warm kind of relationship. You don’t say so but we can see how things affect your emotions. Chitose Ayase
