Afterward, Ken was hospitalized and skipped death when one of his organs was transplanted.
The twist in the plot that we witnessed after that was honestly quite thrilling as Ken now turned into a ghoul as well, but not completely. Ken was initially facing unexplainable problems after becoming a ghoul and also had to be careful to not get caught by Anti-Ghoul forces. Ken Kaneki
Ken is the hero who has faced drastic changes in his life after he turned into a ghoul. Basically, Ken had serious injuries, and to save his life, his body needed an immediate transplant. His girlfriend Riz (who attacked him) donated her “kakuhou” to him. The gentle, loving, carefree boy who never had negativity began to detest himself because of his lust for human flesh.
Yeah! How can we forget that his physical appearance altered after that scenario as black hair became white and whenever his ghoul half took over him than his one eye turned red. Ken even wore a mask to hide his true identity and yes it was hideous. He was baffled between his two distinct identities as his human nature wouldn’t let him harm anyone but his ghoul nature craved for flesh.
Eto Yoshimura
Eto is a girl that every guy would like to have in his life as she is energetic, pretty, enthusiastic, and instinctive as well. She has a really distinct sea-green hair color and similar eyes, but only one as her other eye is red like other ghouls. Eto is half-human and half-ghoul and her mother was a human while her father was a ghoul.
Her character has been developed in an interesting way as she lives a notorious life of a novelist and people admire her but at night she envelopes herself in bandages and wears a hoodie to veil her true identity. On the other hand, Eto is a cold-blooded being who tortures her prey and enjoys their pain and screams. We obviously can’t justify it; however, this mercilessness in her heart has taken over her completely when humans showed their viciousness to this innocent girl. Society never accepted the existence of ghouls and Eto has always faced this cruelty which ended up making her like this.
Touka Kirishima
Touka is the deuteragonist in the anime and played an interesting role in being a ghoul that was pretty enough that even the investigators couldn’t figure out that she was a ghoul, instead, were amazed to see such a beauty. Touka is a young teenager with indigo hair and eye while she hides her red eye with her front bags.
In the first season, Touka was a waitress in the café and everybody who came there adored her. She looked attractive even in her waitress uniform. On the other hand, Touka is a ghoul and tries to be at peace with humans. She wishes to become a bridge between ghouls and humans but knows that this wouldn’t be facile at all.
We can always feel that Touka lives with grief. It is because she feels responsible for her parents’ death and so, wants to end the war between ghouls and humans. She plays a significant part by befriending Ken. When we move towards other seasons, it was so lovely to watch Touka and Ken getting married and living a life they both wished for. They were even blessed with a daughter named Ichika.
Akira Mado
Akira is a prominent character in season 1 of Tokyo Ghoul as she was a part of the Associate Special Class Ghoul Investigator. Do you know, when we first saw her, we couldn’t believe that she is a ghoul investigator! She has short blonde hair, almond eyes, slender and petite body but when we saw her fighting, she was splendid!
She is basically a workaholic and passionately worked to track and trace ghouls in Tokyo. Dressed in a suit and tie, Akira knows what challenges to take on and how! She has sharp senses and can easily detect negativity in the air. Moreover, her fighting with ghouls is so thrilling to watch since she facilely fights them with a weapon that can kill them.
Akira left her job because she soon realized that not all ghouls are threatening and they also have the right to live in this world like any other being.
